Natasha Denona Mini Sunset Palette

Anyone else feel like they need a Natasha Denona palette when they see the looks and swatches all over the internet?? Every single shadow looks so beautiful! When she came out with the five-pan palettes it was a dream come truuuue!

Let me tell you about the…

Natasha Denona Mini Sunset Palette

Cost $25

Isn’t she a dreaaaam!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

Straight from her site:

“The extended shade range of the exisiting Natasha Denona Sunset Palette featuring 5 brand new shades.

The color scheme allows to create a whole eye makeup look, including 2 metallics, 2 mattes & 1 sparkling / foiled shade from light to dark.”

Colors from left to right:

  • Guava – A dirty peach (matte)
  • Apollo – A bright brick (metallic)
  • Dirty Mars – A dirty terracotta (matte)
  • Sun Beam – A rich bronze (sparkling/foiled)
  • Halo – A warm champagne (metallic)

The swatches are from the leftmost color in the palette (guava) to the rightmost (halo). The first photo is in direct sunlight and the following is with flash.

As for the swatches, I think they look beautiful but come off a bit dull and patchy. Please hold judgement until you see..

The Look

To be honest, this is one of my favorite looks! I used Guava as my transition, Dirty Mars in my outer and inner thirds to create a halo, then added Halo to the center to top it all off.

So the swatches DO NOT give this palette justice. These shadows are creamy, pigmented, and blend like a dream! The colors are very consistent when blending not at all patchy as the swatches may suggest.

Here are some more photos of the look:

Final Thoughts

I give this palette a 9/10. I just wish there were a few more mattes. I may splurge one day and buy one of her full palettes!

Enjoy! ❤️

Physicians Formula Butter Collection

Hi Beauties!!

Anyone else super excited when they saw this launch?? I have a few PF blush bronzers, but I’ve always wanted to try PF butter bronzers and highlights. I always see the Gurus raving about them, but the price tag has always steered me away. Not that they are super expensive ($13 a piece I believe), but when I’m at the drug store there are already bronzers and highlights for cheaper that I know are amazing! Anyways, this collection was the perfect way to try everything!

Let’s get into it!

Physicians Formula Butter Collection

Price- $14.95 from their Website

This is limited edition and it is sold out on their site. Might still be in your local Walmart!

This palette comes in two ranges: light/med and med/deep. They each have a bronzer, blush, 2 highlights and one fragrance. I bought the light/med kit. This one specifically includes:

  • Butter Bronzer in Bronzer
  • Butter Blush in Natural Glow
  • NEW* Butter Highlighter in Full Moon – exclusive shade
  • NEW* Butter Highlighter in Galactic – exclusive shade
  • NEW* Butter Paradise Eau de Toilette

Isn’t she a beauty?! 😍

I have three swatches for you. First one is indoors, no flash.

This second one is indoors with a flash

This third one is indoors, but in direct sunlight.

The bronzer is so buildable and beautiful. I have an issue with most bronzers where they look muddy on me no matter how much I blend.

The blush is a great peachy color with a slight sheen. I love it and I don’t even do blush a lot.

These highlighters are SO BEAUTIFUL! Full Moon (The gold one) looks chalky when you swatch it, but it’s so creamy. They both melt right into the skin. I loved it so much I put it all over my chest and collar bone too (see look below).

The fragrance smells just like the palette. This whole palette smells like summer. Very coconutty, which is nice, however, I don’t see myself using it as a perfume unless I’m going to the beach.

The Look

I am so in love with this look! ❤️

Overall I love this palette and give it a 10/10! I love it!!

Chocolate Gold Review

Hello, Beauty Babes ❤️❤️

It’s been so long since I’ve posted. I want to first tell you about how my no-buy is going. Well, it’s been 29 days and I haven’t purchased a single item of makeup (minus my subscription boxes). I feel great!! I’ve been rediscovering so much makeup I forgot about! I’ve recently been tempted by Ulta sales, but I’ve managed to stay strong.

I’ve also been terrible with keeping up with this blog. I’m in my last class for my bachelors and it’s taking ALL my time!

Now, on to the review! Today I want to go over Too Faced Chocolate Gold palette. I know I’m late to the game. I procrastinated on buying this guy, and I’m so happy I finally caved and bought it!

Too Faced Chocolate Gold Palette

Price: $49.00

What Too Faced has to say:

  • “Metallic shades infused with real gold for extra luxe sparkle
  • Creamy matte shadows offer soft, velvety wear
  • Infused with our signature chocolate scent for a mood boost with every swipe
  • Richly pigmented colors offer one-swipe payoff”

This palette has 16 shades, includes 3 mattes and 13 foiled glittered shadows.

(Picture taken from Too Faced website)

The following photos are pictures of the shadows in the palette. The top swatch of each color is with my finger and the bottom swatch is with my Morphe E10. On the left are the swatches with no flash and the right is with flash. These colors are so gorgeous!! My favorite colors are Drippin’ Diamonds and Classy and Sassy.

The Look

Excuse the AWFUL brows. I need them done like 💁🏼‍♀️.

Overall Thoughts

The palette is gorgeous!! The one thing I wish is that there were more matte shades. I did have to grab my JSC Blood Sugar Palette for some transition shades.

Final Rating is 8/10.

Why I Am Not Buying Makeup for Two Months

I watch the beauty gurus on YouTube. I follow all the makeup brands I can think of. I absolutely LOVE Makeup. I love seeing new items release. So many unique ideas. It’s intriguing and I want it ALL.

So this past weekend when I was shopping Macy’s VIP sale and purchased not one, not two, but THREE new palettes I thought to myself, am I even gonna use these? I have over 50 palettes at this point, with more inbound. I realize, out of the last 20 palettes I’ve purchased I love only used them once or twice. The beauty industry is releasing new products like wild fire and convincing us that we need it all. I want to actually use my makeup and not shit away my money.

So now I made the decision to not buy ANY makeup for TWO months. It’s gonna be hard. (18 days of beauty from Ulta 😭). But I will do this.

My goals for these next two months:

  1. Use all unopened products
  2. Use each palette in my collection more than one time.
  3. Learn less could be more
  4. Create amazing looks

Be ready for new makeup looks in the next few months!

When I saw the first preview of The Soft Glam palette, I knew I had to have it. The color scheme is beautiful. It’s nothing over the top or crazy. It’s very neutral, hence the name, Soft Glam. I feel like over the last year or two everybody in the beauty community has been wanting big, bold, over-the-top palettes. I’m a little worn out on that and I have been wanting a good neutral palette. I’ve been waiting for the release of this, since I first laid eyes on it.

Now, let’s get into this review!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam Palette

Price- $42

In this palette you get 14 shades with 9 ultra-matte shades*, 2 metallics^, 2 iridescent~, and one “multi-imensional”• shade.

The following photos are side by side with the left being no flash and the right being with flash. I swatched each color twice, top is with my finger and the bottom is with a tapered blending brush (Colourpop E2).

Photo 1: Tempera*, Glistening~, Orange Soda*, Rose Pink~

Photo 2: Sultry^, Bronze^, Mulberry*, Dusty Rose*

Photo 3: Fairy•, Burnt Orange*, Sienna*, Rustic*, Cyprus Umber*, Noir*

I quickly did a look with this palette today. This is not the greatest I’ve ever done, but it’s a look.

No lashes (No time 🤷🏻‍♀️). I think it would look better with a wing, but I didn’t have time for that either. I used Tempera all over. Then, added Burnt Orange high in the crease. I absolutely love this color! I then added Dusty Rose to the lower crease. I was a little disappointed in this color. Then I added Cyprus Umber to the outter corner (I could’ve blended more 🤦🏻‍♀️) and finally put Bronze all over the lid (AMAZING COLOR!).

I am the WORST at photos.

Overall, I love the palette. It’s the perfect palette for a simple yet elegant look.

Rating 9/10 You need this palette!

Half Face of NO Primer OR Setting Spray

I really wanted to test out if primers and setting sprays really do anything to make my makeup last longer and/or look better. I’ve said it before, I am not with the hype of primer. It doesn’t do anything that I can tell, and I’ve tried many different kinds. I love setting sprays though and I feel like they do a really great job of keeping my makeup in place for hours!

Here is my full faced finished. My right side (your left) has primer and setting spray. I used Benefit Porefrssional Primer and Cover FX Illuminating Setting Spray. To me, both sides look the same. P.S. I will not touch up any photos in this post in any way.

I finished my makeup around 4p.m. And I took pictures all through the night of both sides of my face. My husband and I went to a concert this night. It was hot, sweaty, and there was A LOT of jumping around. I also didn’t touch up AT ALL throughout this night, so this makeup really went through a journey of its own. I want to apologize in advance for the shitty bathroom selfies and the terrible lighting.

Two hours after finished makeup application and everything is looking great still. I don’t notice any difference between the two.

Four hours after I put my face on is when I started to notice a different. My highlight is beaming on the right side of my face but a little lack luster on the left (Of course I had to snap the pics before I finished drying my hands 🤷🏻‍♀️).

Eight hours after application, my foundation was looking a bit rough on the left side of my face vs the right. Like I said, there were a lot of other factors from this night that could’ve caused the degradation in makeup. You can see my pimples through on the left side of my face a lot more than you can on the right.

I took my final picture at 10 hours. Overall, my makeup looked pretty rough on both sides. In my opinion, at this point, they look the same. No touch ups, no editing, 10 hours of jumping around and sweating. I expected to look like this or worse! 😂

My final thoughts on this:

Primer still does nothing for me. I will never purchase primer. I have so many samples that if I feel the need to use it, I have it. I didn’t notice any difference applying makeup with or without primer. Also, my pores are easily covered up by a good foundation. So, this feels like an extra unneeded step to me. I’m sure there are really amazing primers out there that help people with different skin types as me, but for me, I don’t see the need.

Setting spray is a must. While I don’t expect it to completely lock my entire face down, there is a noticeable difference with highlight and powder products that setting spray holds in for a lot longer than without spray. I love setting spray!!!

I Tried New Maybelline Eyeshadows And…

I will admit, I am kind of a snob when it comes to my eyeshadows. When I see a small palette, it’s not something I normally want to buy or am even drawn to. There’s something about a large palette that I can create more than one or two looks from, it’s what pulls me in! This is especially true for drugstore eyeshadows. I NEVER buy the small quads or palettes, but this week I decided to be different.

I caved and bought the Maybelline City Mini Palette. I saw these colors and thought, yes! Let’s do this! I’ve also heard great things about this mascara, mostly that it’s comparable to Benefit’s, Bang mascara, so I had to pick that up as well.

The City Mini Palette x Shayla- $7.50

Total Temptation Mascara- $7.99

I got these at Target and there was a 20% off coupon for them! Yay!!

Here is a closer look..

I love this arrangement of colors. I only wish there was another matte color. There’s only one real color I will use in my crease (the dark brown).

I swatched these all the same as I do with every other shadow. The light shade is non existent and the black is patchy. The shimmers look gorgeous though. All were soft but were powdery. There was A LOT of fallout with these. Nothing like Subculture (🤭) but it’s there.

I still went with it, here’s my final look.

I liked the way my look turned out. I didn’t love it, but I liked it. I wish the black was more black, I couldn’t deepen my outer corner the way I wanted. (Side note: that inner corner and brow bone highlight is not from this palette.)

Let’s talk mascara. I actually really liked this stuff. I was expecting it to be like Benefit’s new mascara, and it wasn’t. I actually liked this one better. It didn’t lengthen my lashes like I would like, but they were fuller and voluminous as you can see from the photos above.

I wore these for about 6 hours and here’s what it looked like before I washed my face.

I set my face and used eye primer as usual, still. Most of the shadow is gone. So sad. The mascara on the other hand, was still on and looking great!

My final thoughts on the palette is a NO. 2/10. I could’ve gotten a better palette for cheaper from Wet n Wild or spent a few bucks more to get a Milani palette. As for the mascara, YES! 7/10. I will to reach for this!!
